Iran troupe stages Shakespeare narrative

An Iranian troupe has performed an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night's Dream’ in Tehran.

Directed by Mostafa Koushki, the play is on stage in Tehran Independent Theater.

“The play was warmly welcomed by the audiences in summer and we decided to continue the performance,” Koushki was quoted by the media.

He added that the troupe plans to perform the play during the Fajr International Theater Festival 2017.

Among the notable cast of ‘A Midsummer Night's Dream’ play are Amir Mehdi Juleh, Azin Nazari and Saba Izadyar.

‘A Midsummer Night's Dream’ is a comedy written by the renowned British author William Shakespeare and published in the 17th century.

The book features the events related to the marriage of the Duke of Athens, Theseus, and Hippolyta, his fiancée.
